Early payments for contractors. |

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 Sept (The Star) -- The Public Works Department (PWD) can now pay the contractors of projects under its supervision in seven days instead of two months previously, Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu says.
This would be good news for many bumiputra contractors who took up loans from banks and other financial institutions, as it would reduce the amount they had to pay back, he said.
The shorter waiting period, however, would only be for those who sent details of work done correctly and completely effective this month, he told reporters after attending a breaking of fast hosted by his ministry at the PWD Complex here yesterday. – Bernama |
