KUALA LUMPUR, 10 Oct (The Star) -- Puspakom has advised motorists to call its hotline to find out queue times and locations of its centres, if they want to avoid delays when sending their vehicles for inspection before the balik kampung rush.
A Puspakom spokesman said it was a common trend for inspection centres to be busier during the lead-up to festive seasons and that customers could call 1-800-88-6927 to find out the necessary information.
He was responding to a report in a Chinese daily that some people waited seven hours for their vehicles to be inspected at Puspakom’s Bukit Maluri centre on Monday.
“Monday had an unusual surge, when 584 inspections had to be done there compared to the daily average of 250,” the spokesman said.
A car salesman, Chanel Su, said customers wanted the necessary paperwork to be done quickly so they could drive the cars to balik kampung for Hari Raya.
Mohd Nizam Ismail, who is a runner, said the waiting times were a little longer than usual and that it was normal to wait up to three hours for a car to be inspected. |
