PUTRAJAYA, 7 Jan (NST) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today said the various measures taken to improve the government’s delivery system last year had been fruitful.
The measures included the establishment of the Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (Pemudah), a joint initiative by the government and private sector to improve the government’s delivery system and simplify business operations.
“Alhamdulillah, the complaints, criticisms which were sometimes humiliating, are no longer heard, there has been much improvement, and it’s true that efforts to provide service to the public had improved last year.
“Thank you and congratulations to all of you, but we can’t be complacent, because such an attitude will not be able to add value to the efforts that we have put in,” the Prime Minister said at the monthly gathering of the Prime Minister’s Department, here today.
Abdullah called on the civil servants to improve performance, efficiency and productivity and diligence in discharging their responsibilities as part of their new year resolution. “Hopefully, such determination will bring about results as aspired by the people,” he said.
After the gathering, the Prime Minister proceeded to chair a special meeting to discuss the shortage of cooking oil at the Prime Minister’s Department. |
